Role Description:

The Regional Support Lead (RSL) is a vital position at We The Free, responsible for supporting and empowering activists, teams, and groups within their assigned region to maximize their impact in advocating for animal rights and veganism. Acting as a bridge between the global leadership team and local volunteers, the RSL ensures effective communication, provides training and resources, and fosters a supportive, collaborative community. This role is instrumental in maintaining the health and growth of We The Free’s grassroots activism network while upholding its mission and values.

  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms for outreach and engagement.

Responsibilities

  1. Support and Training

    • Provide guidance and resources to local activists and teams to improve campaign effectiveness.

    • Deliver training sessions on outreach techniques, leadership, and movement-building strategies.

    • Foster the development of emerging leaders within the region.

  2. Communication and Coordination

    • Act as the primary point of contact between regional teams and the global leadership.

    • Ensure timely communication of updates, events, and initiatives.

    • Promote collaboration between activists and groups within the region.

  3. Event and Campaign Support

    • Assist in organizing and executing regional outreach events, including the 3 Minute Movie Challenge.

    • Collaborate with local teams to align activities with We The Free’s mission and goals.

  4. Monitoring and Reporting

    • Track the progress of regional campaigns and provide regular updates to global leadership.

    • Collect feedback from activists to identify areas for improvement and resource needs.

  5. Community Building

    • Cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and connected activist community in the region.

    • Address conflicts or challenges in teams, fostering solutions that strengthen team dynamics.

  6. Representation

    • Represent We The Free at regional events, conferences, and partner organization meetings.

    • Act as an ambassador for the organization, promoting its mission and values.

Travel

A valid passport and permission to travel are essential for this role. You must be able to travel several times per year within your region to represent We The Free (WTF) at events, trainings, and meetings, ensuring strong regional presence and engagement. Additionally, you are required to travel internationally at least once per year to attend the annual strategy review, where global team members come together to align on goals and priorities. The ability to travel confidently and reliably is crucial to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
